Tiger Woods Invitational plays into its second decade
Each year, the Tiger Woods Invitational presented by USLI is a golfer’s dream experience. From three rounds of golf to extraordinary evening events, the time spent at Pebble Beach each October will soon not be forgotten. On top of the memories and golf, for over a decade, the event has raised funds in support of TGR Foundation’s mission to empower students to pursue their passions through education.
The 11th edition of the Tiger Woods Invitational was held October 10-12 and provided memorable moments right from the start. Monday at Spyglass Hill Golf Course, event host Tiger Woods was joined by fellow major winner Michelle Wie West for an exhibition on the driving range to kick off the event. The two shared stories, insights and dazzled guests with their shot making on the range. Following the exciting exhibition, guests took to the course at Spyglass, outfitted in premium Nike Golf gear, Bridgestone golf balls and more. The day was full of amazing views, great golf shots, and plenty of excitement to go around.
The annual Tiger Woods Invitational dinner was a highlight of the event. Tiger shared stories about the impact TGR Live events make on his foundation, highlighting his experience as a mentor in the foundation’s Earl Woods Scholar Program. In addition to the spectacular dinner spread at The Beach Club, guests enjoyed Far Niente wines, Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey, El Mayor Tequila and more.
Tuesday morning got started at The Hay, the par-3 course recently re-designed by Tiger and TGR Design. Guests got into the swing of things with a quick nine holes and got the ball rolling with new TaylorMade Spider GT putters courtesy of USLI. There was more golf in store on Tuesday as guests headed to The Links at Spanish Bay for the second round of the event. On the eighth hole, teams were greeted by PGA TOUR winner Wesley Bryan who gave the teams a leg up by hitting tee shots into the par-3 eight hole. For one team, Bryan even showed off, hitting driver into the wind on the 150-yard hole.
A staple of the Tiger Woods Invitational is Tuesday night’s glow golf presented by NetJets at The Lodge. As he did earlier in the day, Wesley Bryan showed the guests how to do it, sticking a shot close to the pin for all to try and beat. In the end, the competition came down to the wire as glow golf was as competitive as ever.
The Tiger Woods Invitational wouldn’t be complete until Wednesday’s round at Pebble Beach Golf Links. A bucket-list course for any golfer, guests enjoyed a picture-perfect day on course. The three-day overall championship came down to the final few holes but it wasn’t the competition guests left talking about. Through the support of events like the Tiger Woods Invitational presented by USLI, TGR Foundation can deepen its connection with students and help them on their path to connect their purpose with their passions.
