Celebrating Ten: 2021 Tiger Woods Invitational full of memorable moments

Reaching ten years is a milestone to commend and cause for celebration. For a fundraising event to reach ten years is certainly commendable. For an event to reach 10 years that is as unique and impactful in the lives of youth as the Tiger Woods Invitational is cause for celebration. And the 2021 Tiger Woods Invitational presented by USLI was all of that.

Since inception, the event has benefited youth through the education programs of TGR Foundation. Throughout the years, college scholars and board members of the foundation have shared stories of perseverance and impact that leaves the audience inspired. In 2021 TGR Foundation is celebrating 25 years of impact and the milestone of over two million students served.

The event started Monday on a high note as guests were greeted at Spyglass Hill Golf Course by recent PGA TOUR champion Max Homa. In addition to spending time with a pro, the guests were all outfitted like the pros with a complete set of Nike Golf gear, Bridgestone golf balls and a TaylorMade driver courtesy of USLI. While the gifts might have helped the guests play like a professional, the experience on-course was full of beautiful views and competitive golf with the perfect 19th hole beverage waiting from Uncle Nearest Premium Whisky.

The celebration continued Monday night at The Beach Club during the Tiger Woods Invitational dinner and reception. Bryson DeChambeau joined Max Homa on stage and shared a number of insider golf stories from the Ryder Cup, life on TOUR and his passion for “dropping nukes” aka hitting long drives during an intimate conversation with ESPN SportsCenter’s Ashley Brewer. During the show, guests enjoyed a locally sourced menu full of epicurean delights perfectly paired with Far Niente wines.

The look inside a life of a PGA TOUR professional continued on day two at Monterey Peninsula Country Club as the day started with an exclusive golf exhibition hosted by Bryson DeChambeau. Bryson entertained the guests by walking through his practice routine, answering guest questions and of course hitting his trademark long drives. The golf at MPCC matched the excitement of the exhibition as perfect weather met the amazing coastline views for a pictureperfect round. Throughout the round, guests were met with dining experiences to match the golf experience. From Lobster corn dogs and wood fired pizzas, the guests were well fueled for the round.

That evening back at The Lodge, the celebration was in full swing, literally and figuratively during the Reception and Glow Golf presented by NetJetsWhile guests were still reveling in the food experience at MPCC, they were met with an even more incredible dining experience at the Lodge, with food stations full of delectable cuisine celebrating the “greatest hits” from ten years including favorites such as the steak trio carving station, paella station and cast-iron fried chickenOnce the sun set over the 18th green at Pebble, the lights were lit, setting the stage for the annual highlights of Glow Golf. Hitting Pebble’s 18th green is hard enough in daylight, trying to do it in the dark with NetJets miles for a hole-in-one on the line makes it a whole new game.

The golf action resumed Wednesday with an unforgettable day at Pebble Beach Golf Links. The team competition heated up for those in contention with hopes of being crowned champion of the 10th Tiger Woods Invitational. For those not in the running, a day of golf at Pebble filled with gifts such as a custom Pebble Beach belt, proximity prizes from Whoop bands and BOSE earbuds and more food such as the power-up station featuring the fan-favorite “The Tiger” was more than memorable. After the final putt dropped and all the strokes were counted, everyone gathered in The Lodge for awards. It was clear by the reaction of the winning teams as they received their hardware that 10 years is a milestone to celebrate.
