The Ultimate Golf Dream With A Purpose
Surrounded by the Monterey Peninsula sun, the Tiger Woods Invitational presented by USLI once again brought three days of competition and lifetime memories back to Pebble Beach for its 12th year. Behind the event made for a golfer’s dream, all proceeds benefit TGR Foundation and its mission of empowering students through education.
Kicking off the event in style, guests enjoyed the beauty of the Monterey Peninsula Country Club during a private Q&A session with event host Tiger Woods and 2023 U.S. Ryder Cup team member Max Homa. A highlight of the Q&A on the driving range was Woods handing Homa a persimmon driver from his junior golf days to hit. Excitement continued as round one got under way. Guests were greeted on course by PGA Professional Michael Block who hit tee shots on the stunning par-3 11th hole at MPCC.
During Monday evening’s dinner, guests heard from Earl Woods Scholar alum Chia Obilo who spoke on the importance and impact TGR Foundation provides to students. Sharing her path from high school to Harvard to her current enrollment as a medical student at Stanford University, Chia expressed her gratitude for the mentorship and opportunities made possible by TGR Foundation.
Tuesday’s round was held at the picturesque meeting of land and sea at Pebble Beach Golf Links. A bucket-list round on any occasion, the backdrop for round two was the perfect combination of sun and fun. As round two came to a close, the evening’s highlights featured culinary delights and glow golf presented by NetJets at The Lodge.
The final round of competition took place Wednesday at Spyglass Hill. As champions were crowned, another dream golf trip came to a close.
